Newcastle Board Accepts Tinkler Offer to Buy Knights

The board of the Newcastle Knights rugby league club yesterday endorsed the proposal from Patinack Farm principal Nathan Tinkler to takes over the club’s NRL licence in exchange for a guaranteed $10 million yearly sponsorship for 10 years plus clearing the club’s estimated $3 million debt. The proposal will now be voted on by club members next month (with 75% approval required).
