Desert Prince Switched Between German Studs

Wednesday, 2nd February 2011

In Europe, triple Gr1-winning 16-year-old sire & former Woodlands Stud shuttler Desert Prince (Green Desert-Flying Fairy, by Bustino) “has been transferred between studs in his adopted country of Germany for 2011,” reported racingpost.com. Desert Prince stood at the Irish National Stud until 2007, when he was switched to Gestut Isarland; he has now been moved from Isarland to Gestut Rottgen (where he will stand alongside Kallisto & Soldier Hollow). The “reason for the switch is building work on the stables at Isarland”. Desert Prince’s Gr1-winning progeny include Mail The Desert, plus southern hemisphere stars Kusi & Clear Mountain Fairview freshman stallion Outback Prince. Desert Prince is standing in Germany in 2011 for €6,500 (A$8,500).
