Top US Jockey Eibar Coa Arrested In Domestic Case
Leading Florida-based jockey Eibar Coa was jailed "on a domestic battery charge, after his wife told police Coa punched her in the face," reported The Sun-Sentinel. Rebeca Coa told police she & her husband "had been at a club & she decided to leave alone after her husband became intoxicated"; Eibar Coa "arrived home shortly after & Rebeca Coa at some point locked herself in a bathroom"; Eibar Coa "broke into the bathroom, began yelling at his wife & then punched her, leaving her with a swollen left cheek & a busted lip". Venezuelan-born Coa, 39, moved to the US in 1993 & "achieved a career milestone in July 2010 when he rode his 4,000th winner". Coa has won riding titles at Monmouth Park, Calder & Gulfstream Park.
