Mourinho Wins Tasmanian Derby

Triple European Gr1-winning Coolmore shuttler Oratorio (Danehill-Mahrah, by Vaguely Noble) added a group success (& 11th individual stakes-winner world-wide) when gelded son Mourinho (Oratorio-Benevolent, by Generous) score a 2.75-lengths victory in the $150,000 Gr3 Tasmanian Derby (2200m) for 3YOs at Tattersall's Park in Hobart. Mourinho (ridden by Anthony Darmanin for trainer Peter Gelagotis) defeated fellow geldings Heez Born lucky (Ustinov-Irish Magic, by O'Reilly) & Jay Bee's Gee Gee (Tough Speed-Private Ensign, by Personal Flag). Mourinho (a $36,000 yearling consigned from Little Wych Stud at the 2009 Inglis Classic Sale in Sydney) took his record to 3 wins & 1 placing from 6 starts for $150,367 earnings.
