Armidale Stud-based stallion Tough Speed (Miswaki-Nature's Magic, by Nijinsky) added a black-type success when daughter Tough Chik (Tough Speed-Chikka, by West Quest) score a 1-length victory in the $90,000 Listed Strutt Stakes (2100m) for 3YO fillies at Hobart. Tough Chik (ridden by Kelvin Sanderson for trainer Royston Carr) defeated Exchanges (Domesday-Taylor Dane, by Danehill) & favourite Le Bel Away (Bel Esprit-Let's Fly Away, by King Of Kings).
