Gr1 Star Alpine Rose Produces 2nd Sea The Stars Foal

In Ireland, the 2nd foal by superstar 5YO stallion & 6-time Gr1-winning 2009 European Horse-Of-The-Year Sea The Stars (Cape Cross-Urban Sea, by Miswaki) is a colt 1st foal from French Gr1-winning 6YO mare Alpine Rose (Linamix-Fragrant Hill, by Shirley Heights) born at Sir Anthony & Lady O'Reilly's Castlemartin Stud in County Kildare, reported racingpost.com. The foal was bred by "a partnership including Lady O'Reilly, Lucien Orano of the Ecurie des Monceaux & Charles-Henri de Moussac of the Haras du Mezeray, who bought Alpine Rose for €550,000 (A$715,000) at the 2008 Arqana December sale". On the track, Alpine Rose recorded 4 wins (including the France's Gr1 Prix Jean Romanet over 2000m at Deauville & Gr2 Prix Corrida over 2100m at Saint-Cloud) & 4 placings (including France's Gr1 Grand Prix De Saint-Cloud over 2400m, Gr3 Prix Minerve over 2500m at Deauville & Listed Prix Joubert over 2400m at Saint-Cloud) from 12 starts for £355,168 (A$543,000) earnings.
