On the Australian track yesterday, multiple Gr1-winning former NZ Java Lodge & Independent Stallions Victoria shuttler Zenno Rob Roy (Sunday Silence-Roamin Rachel, by Mining) added a black-type success (& 1st Southern Hemisphere stakes-winner) when gelded son Enjin Number Nine (Zenno Rob Roy-Sal, by I Conquer) scored a 2.25-lengths victory in the $100,000 Listed Manfred Stakes (1300m) for 3YOs at Sandown's Hillside course in Melbourne. Enjin Number Nine (ridden by Glen Boss for trainers Matt Ellerton & Simon Zahra) defeated the colts Bullbars (Elusive Quality-Accessories, by Singspiel) & favourite Star Witness (Starcraft-Leone Chiara, by Lion Hunter). Enjin Number Nine (a NZ$36,000 2YO at the 2009 NZ Bloodstock Ready-To-Run Sale) took his record to 3 wins from 4 starts for $83,890 earnings.
