Magic Millions Perth Day-1: $200k Street Sense Filly

Thursday, 10th February 2011

Bloodstock agent Justin Bahen paid top price of $200,000 for a filly by US 2006 Champion 2YO Colt & 2007 Gr1 Kentucky Derby-winning Darley shuttler Street Sense (the 8th foal out of Gr1 Melbourne Cup-winning 18-year-old Zabeel mare Jezabeel) during last night's opening session at the 4-day Magic Millions Perth Yearling Sale at Belmont Park. The filly was consigned by Distinct Racing & Breeding; her dual Gr1-winning & Gr1-placed dam Jezabeel (who earned $2,024,749) is a full-sister to Fleureel (dam of stakes-winner Rasmussen) & a half-sister to Gr3-winner Ashley Grove. Bahen confirmed this filly will join the Melbourne stable of trainer Mark Kavanagh & noted: "I thought she was the filly of the sale - a lovely individual who looks a great prospect as a 3YO. I have seen most of the yearlings from Jezabeel & this filly is the pick of them in my book."
