Obsequious Wins Light Fingers Stakes

Monday, 14th February 2011

Darley Stud's 11-time Gr1-winning World Champion Miler & former Australian Horse-Of-The-Year Lonhro (Octagonal-Shadea, by Straight Strike) added a group success (& 3rd-placing) when daughter Obsequious (Lonhro-Sycophant, by Commands) returned from a 17-weeks spell to score by a long-neck in the $200,000 Gr2 Patinack Farm Light Fingers Stakes (1200m) for 3YO fillies at Royal Randwick in Sydney. Obsequious (ridden by Kerrin McEvoy for trainer Peter Snowden) defeated Red Tracer (Dane Shadow-Kisma, by Snippets) & favoured stable-mate Parables (Lonhro-Fairytales, by Night Shift). Obsequious now has 3 wins (also including 2010's Gr3 San Domenico Stakes over 1000m at Randwick) & 2 runners-up (in 2010's Gr2 Roman Consul Stakes over 1200m at Randwick & Gr2 Reisling Stakes over 1200m at Rosehill) from 9 starts for $373,450 earnings.
