Monday, 14th February 2011

Durham Lodge Thoroughbred Stud's Gr1 Victoria Derby winner Blackfriars (Danehill-Kensington Gardens, by Grosvenor) added a feature success when favoured colt Playing God (Blackfriars-Dolly Will Do, by Rubiton) returned from a 2-months spell to notch his 4th successive win with a 1.25-lengths victory in the $125,000 Magic Millions Perth Trophy (1400m) for 3YOs at Ascot. Playing God (ridden by Steven Parnham for trainer Neville Parnham) defeated the gelding Luckygray (Bradbury's Luck-Damah Lady, by Mukaddamah) & fellow colt Moon Tycoon (Pearl Of Love-Moon Talk, by Poliuto). Playing God (a $27,000 yearling consigned by Durham Lodge at the 2009 Magic Millions Perth Sale) now has 6 wins (also including 2010's Gr1 Kingston Town Classic over 1800m at Ascot, Gr3 WA Guineas over 1600m at Ascot & Listed Aquanita Stakes over 1800m at Ascot) & 2 placings (including 2010's Listed Fairetha Stakes over 1400m at Ascot) from 10 starts for $709,403 earnings.
