Sepoy Wins Blue Diamond Prelude (C&G)

Monday, 14th February 2011

Former Darley shuttler Elusive Quality (Gone West-Touch Of Greatness, by Hero's Honor) added a juvenile group success when Sheikh Mohammed's unbeaten colt Sepoy (Elusive Quality-Watchful, by Danehill) maintained his perfect record with a decisive 3.5-lengths victory in the $125,000 Gr3 Patinack Farm Blue Diamond Prelude (1100m) for 2YO colts & geldings at Caulfield. Hot favourite Sepoy (ridden by Mark Zahra for trainer Peter Snowden) defeated fellow colts Running Tall (Stratum-Fleeting Touch, by Touch Gold) & debutant Huegill (More Than Ready-Trust Antonia, by National Assembly).  Sepoy now has 3 wins (also including last month's Listed Patinack Farm Blue Diamond Preview over 1000m at Caulfield & 2010's Listed Maribyrnong Trial Stakes over 1000m at Flemington) from 3 starts for $197,250 earnings.
