Sister Madly Wins Southern Cross Stakes

Flagship Arrowfield Stud stallion & current Australian Champion sire Redoute's Choice (Danehill-Shantha's Choice, by Canny Lad) added a group success (& 70th individual stakes-winner world-wide) when favoured 4YO mare Sister Madly (Redoute's Choice-Jade Tiara, by Bureaucracy) returned from an 18-weeks spell to score a 1.75-lengths victory in the $125,000 Gr3 Southern Cross Stakes (1200m) at Randwick. Sister Madly (ridden by Rod Quinn for trainer Anthony Cummings) defeated top-weighted 5YO gelding Pinwheel (Lonhro-Quilt, by Danehill) & 5YO entire Cardinal Virtue (Elusive Quality-Valourina, by Snippets). Sister Madly (passed-in for $775,000 as a yearling at the 2008 Inglis Easter Sale in Sydney) took her record to 2 wins & 6 placings (including 2010's Gr1 Robert Sangster Stakes over 1200m at Morphettville, Gr2 Yallambee Classic over 1200m at Morphettville & Listed Sheraco Stakes over 1100m at Rosehill, plus 2009's Gr1 Arrowfield Stud Flight Stakes over 1600m at Randwick & Listed Reginald Allen Quality over 1400m at Randwick) from 12 starts for $300,030 earnings.
