Stakes-Winning Irish Sire Abbeyside To Stand In India

Wednesday, 16th February 2011

Irish-bred & French stakes-winning 5YO stallion Abbeyside (Danehill Dancer-Trois Graces, by Alysheba) "has been retired to stand at Dashmesh Stud in India," reported racingpost.com. Abbeyside won France's Listed Prix Yacowlef on debut for trainer Paul Cole in 2008 & then finished runner-up by a nose (behind subsequent Gr1 Poule d'Essai des Poulains winner Silver Frost) in the Gr3 Prix de Cabourg at Deauville in his 2nd start; "unfortunately an injury sustained in that race kept him off the track for over 18 months & he was retired after making an unsuccessful return at Lingfield last April". Abbeyside will stand alongside former European stallions Carnival Dancer & Princely Heir at Dashmesh Stud.
