Masthead Wins Inglis Premier

Thursday, 17th February 2011

Eliza Park's Gr2-winning 8YO freshman sire Written Tycoon (Iglesia-Party Miss, by Kenmare) recorded his 1st winner when the colt Masthead (Written Tycoon-Balsamico, by Redoute's Choice) scored by a long-neck in yesterday's $250,000 Inglis Premier (1200m) for 2YOs at Mornington. Masthead (ridden by Craig Williams for trainer Lee Freedman) defeated front-running filly Emerald Downs (Churchill Downs-Spirit Of Grace, by Dr Grace) & favoured colt Delago's Lad (Delago Brom-Simulation, by Snaadee). Masthead (a $65,000 yearling consigned by Lindsay Park at the 2010 Inglis Melbourne Premier Sale) now has 1 win & 1 runner-up (in 2010's Inglis Banner over 1000m at Mooney Valley) from 3 starts for $152,750 earnings. Meanwhile a yearling half-sister to Masthead (by Lindsay Park stallion Good Journey) is catalogued for next week's Inglis Melbourne Premier Sale.
