Ambitious Dragon Wins HK Gr1 Classic Cup

In Hong Kong yesterday, NZ Waikato Stud's Australian-bred stallion Pins (Snippets-No Finer by Karou Star) added a Gr1 triumph (& 37th stakes-winner world-wide) when gelded son Ambitious Dragon (Pins-Golden Gamble, by Oregon) scored a 1.75-lengths victory in the HK$6 million (A$755,000) Gr1 Hong Kong Classic Cup (1800m) for 4YOs at Sha Tin. Ambitious Dragon (ridden by Maxime Guyon for trainer Tony Millard) defeated favoured fellow gelding Lucky Nines (Dubawi-Birjand, by Green Desert) & the entire Free Judgement (Vindication-South Bay Cove, by Fusaichi Pegasus). Ambitious Dragon (passed-in for NZ$47,500 as a yearling at the 2008 NZ Bloodstock Select Sale at Karaka) took his record to 5 wins & 2 placings from 10 starts.
