Anevay Wins Talindert Stakes

Monday, 21st February 2011

Darley stallion & former Australian champion 1st-season sire Exceed And Excel (Danehill-Patrona, by Lomond) added a juvenile black-type success (& 30th individual stakes-winner world-wide) when favoured daughter Anevay (Exceed And Excel-Categorical, by Hennessy) scored a 1.75-lengths victory against the males in the $100,000 Listed Talindert Stakes (1100m) for 2YOs at Flemington. Anevay (ridden by Nicholas Hall for trainer Tim Martin) defeated the gelding Cash For Matt (Dash For Cash-Composure, by Flying Spur) & the colt Covered In Class (Exceed And Excel-Sunshine, by Kenmare). Anevay (a $160,000 yearling consigned by Amarina Farm at the 2010 Inglis Easter Sale in Sydney) now has a win & 2 runners-up (including last month's Listed Patinack Farm Blue Diamond Preview over 1000m at Caulfield) from 3 starts for $91,300 earnings.
