Multiple Gr1-winning Darley shuttler Medaglia D'Oro (El Prado-Cappucino Bay, by Bailjumper) added a US black-type success when favoured 5YO entire Alma D'Oro (Medaglia d'Oro-Brenda D S, by Fortunate Prospect) scored a 4.25-lengths victory in the US$51,500 Listed John Campbell Handicap (9 furlongs) at Laurel Park in Maryland. Alma D'Oro (ridden by Cornelio Velasquez for trainer Todd Pletcher) defeated 5YO geldings Fonda Ronda Won (Teton Forest-Little Ronda, by Little Missouri) & Auctoritas (Speightstown-Exing, by Exceller). Alma D'Oro (a US$75,000 weanling at the 2006 Keeneland November Sale) took his record to 6 wins (also including 2010's Listed Forty Niner Stakes over 8 furlongs at Aqueduct & Listed Buddy Delp Memorial Stakes over 8.5 furlongs at Delaware Park) & 6 placings (including last month's Listed Evening Attire Stakes over 8.5 furlongs at Aqueduct, plus 2010's Listed DTHA Governors Day Stakes over 8.5 furlongs at Delaware Park, Listed Carpenter Memorial Handicap over 8.5 furlongs at Delaware Park & Listed Joseph French Memorial Stakes over 8 furlongs at Delaware Park) from 18 starts for US$241,538 earnings.
