Thursday, 24th February 2011

Former NZ Glenmorgan Farm & Westbury Stud shuttler Generous (Caerleon-Doff The Derby, by Master Derby) added a group success when evergreen 8YO gelding Fast Future (Generous-Quip, by Rory's Jester) charged down the outside to snatch victory in a 3-way photo-finish to yesterday's $225,000 Gr3 Launceston Cup (2400m) at Mowbray in Tasmania. Fast Future (ridden by Jamie Mott for trainer Russell Cameron) scored by a neck from 5YO mare White Yard (Partners Choice-Scottish Lass, by Devon Flyer) with a further head to 4YO gelding Geegees Blackflash (Clangalang-La Quita, by Grand Lodge). Fast Future (a $34,000 yearling at the 2004 Magic Millions Adelaide Premier Sale) took his record to 8 wins (also including 2008's Listed Caloundra Cup over 2400m on the Sunshine Coast) & 13 placings (including 2010's Listed Canberra Cup over 1600m & 2008's Gr3 Tattersall's Cup over 2200m at Eagle Farm) from 52 starts for $491,225 earnings.
