UK Trainer Michael Jarvis Announces Retirement

In England, leading trainer Michael Jarvis has announced his retirement "due to ill health after 43 years in the profession" reported sportinglife.com. The 72-year-old trainer's best horses have included ill-fated World Champion Miler & 6-time Gr1-winning Chatswood Stud shuttler Rakti as well as Gr1 Prix de l'Arc winner Carroll House, Gr1 1000 Guineas winner Ameerat & Gr1 Epsom Oaks winner Eswarah. Jarvis has begun a handover to his training assistant Roger Varian who will train the 90-strong stable of horses as "a salaried trainer".
