Essington Wins Falvelon Stakes

Flagship Arrowfield Stud stallion & current Australian Champion Sire Redoute's Choice (Danehill-Shantha's Choice, by Canny Lad) added a black-type success (& 71st individual stakes-winner world-wide) when favoured 4YO gelding Essington (Redoute's Choice-Besame Mucho, by Encosta De Lago) notched his 4th successive victory when he gained the judge's decision in a 3-way photo-finish to the $100,000 Listed Falvelon Stakes (1200m) at Eagle Farm in Brisbane. Essington (ridden by Chris Munce for trainer Darryl Hansen) scored by a long-neck from 5YO gelding Bold Glance (Sequalo-Flirting Glance, by Al Ameen) with a further long-neck to top-weighted 8YO gelding The Jackal (Bite The Bullet-Positive Surprise, by Best Western). Essington (a $150,000 yearling consigned by Princes Farm at the 2008 Inglis Easter Sale in Sydney) took his record to 8 wins & 3 placings from 14 starts for $191,300 earnings.
