Miss Gai Flyer Wins Typhoon Tracy Stakes

Monday, 28th February 2011

Arrowfield Stud stallion & former Australian Champion Sire Flying Spur (Danehill-Rolls, by Mr Prospector) also added a black-type success when daughter Miss Gai Flyer (Flying Spur-Power Of One, by Gilded Time) scored by a short-halfhead in the $100,000 Listed Typhoon Tracy Stakes (1200m) for 3YO fillies at Moonee Valley in Melbourne. Miss Gai Flyer (ridden by Jason Maskiell for trainer Peter Moody) defeated favourite Obsequious (Lonhro-Sycophant, by Commands) & Minnie Mah (Al Maher-Minnie Me, by Snippets). Miss Gai Flyer (a $250,000 yearling consigned by Torryburn Stud at the 2008 Inglis Easter Sale in Sydney) took her record to 4 wins (also including last start's Listed Kevin Hayes Stakes over 1200m at Caulfield on February 12) & a runner-up (in 2010's Gr2 Karrakatta Plate over 1200m at Ascot) from 8 starts for $253,088 earnings.
