Florida 2YOs Day-2: US$500K Bernardini Filly

Friday, 18th March 2011

Bloodstock agent David Ingordo (acting for Lane's End Bloodstock on behalf of an undisclosed California-based client) paid US$500,000 for a filly by triple Gr1-winning Darley shuttler & US Eclipse Award-winning stallion Bernardini already named Sweet Dreams (out of unraced Unbridled mare Turbo Dream) consigned by Niall Brennan Stables as agent for Kentucky breeder Peter Blum. The filly (a half-sister to Gr1-winner Dream Rush) clocked 10.4sec for 1 furlong during the pre-sale breeze-up session. Ingordo, when pressed to name the buyer, replied: "He's a very private individual. He's not new to the racing game. He's building a broodmare band. He's got a very good filly racing already right now & he's trying to add to his selection. Bernardini is one of the top stallions & she (this filly) was flawless. She's the best filly in the sale: she has all the tools, jumped through all the hoops & is the right type. We're very excited to have her. She will go to a California trainer."
