1st Japanese Stakes-Winner For Redoute's Choice

In Japan yesterday, flagship Arrowfield Stud stallion & current Australian Champion Sire Redoute's Choice (Danehill-Shantha's Choice, by Canny Lad) added a black-type success (& 72nd individual stakes-winner world-wide) when daughter Clianthus (Redoute's Choice-Flower Park, by Nihon Pillow Winner) scored a 1.75-lengths victory againts the colts in the Listed Marguerite Stakes (1400m) for 3YOs at Hanshin. Shadai home-bred Cliuanthus (conceived in Australia & foaled in Japan by champion Japanese sprinter Flower Park) was ridden by Kyosuke Kokubun for trainer Mikio Matsunaga & clocked 1min 20.9sec in defeating the colts Prince d'Etoile (Deep Impact-Ski Paradise, by Lyphard) & Shiny Hawk (Fuji Kiseki-Spring Never, by Sakura Yutaka O). Overall Cliuanthus now has 3 wins from 7 starts for over A$400,000 earnings.
