Monday, 4th April 2011

In Ireland overnight, triple European Gr1-winning Coolmore shuttler Oratorio (Danehill-Mahrah, by Vaguely Noble) added a group success when favoured 4YO mare Lolly For Dolly (Oratorio-Heart Stopping, by Chester House) notched her 2nd successive group win in a fortnight (since returning from a 9-months spell) with victory by a short-head in the €60,000 (A$82,000) Gr3 Gladness Stakes (7 furlongs) for 4YOs & up at The Curragh. Lolly For Dolly (ridden by Wayne Lordan for trainer Tommy Stack) defeated 5YO entire The Cheka (Xaar-Veiled Beauty, by Royal Academy) & UK-bred 8YO entire Luisant (Pivotal-La Legere, by Lit De Justice). Lolly For Dolly was a 56,000 guineas (A$90,000) foal & later a 57,000 guineas (A$91,000) yearling at Tattersalls. Last month, she also won the Gr3 Park Express Stakes (8 furlongs) at The Curragh & overall now boasts 4 wins (also including 2010's Gr3 Athasi Stakes over 7 furlongs at The Curragh) from 7 starts.
