Dormello To Disperse 119 lots & Relocate Sire Duelled

Wednesday, 6th April 2011

In New Zealand, Dormello Stud has listed 119 lots on an unreserved basis for next month's NZB National Weanling, Broodmare & Mixed Bloodstock Sale (May 2-4) at Kartaka in Auckland. Dormello's Murray Gregory noted: "Basically due to the ill health of one of the partners & the re-focussing of Graeme Rogerson's racing activities, the decision has been made to relocate the stallion Duelled (Redoute's Choice-Leica Pretender, by Sir Tristram) & to sell the broodmares that were purchased to support him at stud & their progeny. This decision has been made reluctantly & after much deliberation, as the progeny by Duelled are now showing considerable promise on the racetrack, particularly over a bit of ground." Duelled (a $300,000 yearling at the 2004 Magic Millions Gold Coast sale) is a 3/4 brother to 1995 Gr1 Victoria Derby-winning Cangon Stud stallion Nothin Leica Dane; Duelled won Australia's 2005 Gr2 AAMI Vase at Moonee Valley & was placed in the Gr1 Victoria Derby, Gr1 Spring Champion Stakes & Gr3 Gloaming Stakes.
