Inglis Yearlings Day-2: $1.025m Casino Prince Colt
In the auction ring, Hawkes Racing (Australian training trio Michael, Wayne & John Hawkes) out-bid fellow trainer Peter Moody to pay top price of $1,025,000 for a half-brother to Australia's multiple Gr1-winning unbeaten 4YO sprinting mare Black Caviar (currently the world's highest-rated racehorse by the International Federation Of Horse Authorities) during yesterday's middle session at the 3-day Inglis Easter Yearling Sale at Newmarket in Sydney. The colt is from the 1st-crop of Gr1-winning & 5-times Gr1-placed Patinack Farm stallion Casino Prince (the 3rd foal out of unraced 9YO Desert Sun mare Helsinge) & was consigned by Makybe (as agent for Gilgai Farm). The colt's dam Helsinge is a half-sister to both Gr1-winning & 5-times Gr1-placed Magnus & Gr2-winner Wilander.
