Monday, 11th April 2011

Triple Gr1-winning WA Oakland Park Stud-based sire Viscount (Quest For Fame-Antwerp, by Sir Tristram) added a Gr1 triumph when Australian-bred 4YO gelding Happy Gladiator (Viscount-Church On Sunday, by Bubble Gum Fellow) scored a 2-lengths victory in yesterday's Macau Gr1 Chairman's Challenge Cup (1200m) at Taipa. Happy Gladiator (ridden by Fred Durso for Australian trainer Garry Moore) defeated fellow 4YO geldings Super Alloy (Kheylef-Misty Peak, by Sri Peken) & Australian-bred Dr Sweet (King Cugat-Retro Chic, by Canny Lad). Happy Gladiator (a $57,500 yearling consigned by Woodlands Stud as agent at the 2008 Inglis/Pitt, Son & Keene Scone Yearling Sale) now has 9 wins & a placing (in January's Gr3 Macau Guineas Prelude over 1400m) from 15 starts.
