Cape Cross Adds Italian Black-Type

Monday, 11th April 2011

Also in Italy overnight, former Darley shuttler Cape Cross (Green Desert-Park Appeal, by Ahonoora) added a black-type success when unbeaten UK-bred daughter Bezique (Cape Cross-Batik, by Peintre Celebre) returned from a 7-month spell to gain the judge's decision in a 3-way photo-finish to the €61,600 (A$85,000) Listed Premio Seregno (1600m) for 3YO fillies at San Siro in Milan. Bezique (ridden by Marcelian Kolmarkaj for trainer marco Gasparini) scored by a head from fellow UK-bred Adamantina (Diktat-Royal Hawk, by Wolfhound) with a further neck from Fujico (Mujahid-Calma Apparente, by Rainbow Quest). Last year Bezique also won Italy's Listed Premio Repubbliche Marinare (1500m) at the Capannelle & overall now has 2 wins from 2 starts.
