On the US track, triple Gr1-winning former Darley shuttler Dubawi (Dubai Millennium-Zomaradah, by Deploy) added a black-type success when Irish-bred colt Surrey Star (Dubawi-Turning Light, by Fantastic Light) scored a half-length victory in the US$100,000 Listed La Puente Stakes (9 furlongs on turf) for 3YOs at Santa Anita Park in California. Surrey Star (ridden by Joseph Talamo for trainer James Cassidy) defeated UK-bred colt Major Art (Compton Place-Rosewood Belle, by Woodman) & another colt Jakesam (Smoke Glacken-Deputy Sarah, by Deputy Commander). Overall she now has 2 wins & 5 placings (including 2010's US Gr3 Generous Stakes over 8 furlongs at Hollywood Park, UK Gr3 Somerville Tattersall Stakes over 7 furlongs at Newmarket, UK Gr3 Solario Stakes over 7 furlongs at Sandown Park & UK Listed Stardom Stakes over 8 furlongs at Goodwood) from 12 starts for $117,206 earnings.
