Kentucky 2YOs: Average Down 2.4%

Wednesday, 13th April 2011

Overall at Keeneland, 70 lots sold for US$11,564,000 (down 3.7% on last year's 71 sold for US$12,013,000). The average of US$165,200 was down 2.4% (last year US$169,197) & the median of US$130,000 was down 3.7% (last year US$135,000). Keeneland vice president of sales Walt Robertson commented: "Our Preview Day was conducted under ideal conditions & the horses performed exceptionally well. We knew we had some horses that were poised to sell well, plus we had a number of good, solid horses that would appeal to a wide range of buyers. There was good momentum throughout the session. We would have preferred fewer outs, but that's the nature of the select 2YO market these days. Overall, we're pleased."
