Kentucky 2YOs: US$625k Indian Charlie Colt

Wednesday, 13th April 2011

In the US auction ring, John Moynihan (bidding on behalf of Jess Jackson's Stonestreet Stables) paid top price of US$625,000 for a colt by Indian Charlie (out of A.P.Indy mare Teenage Temper) at the 1-day Keeneland April 2YOs-In-Training Sale in Lexington in Kentucky. The colt (consigned by Hartley-De Renzo Thoroughbreds as agent) is from the family of multiple Gr3-winner Pleasant Temper & clocked 10.2sec for 1 furlong in the pre-sale breeze-up session. Moynihan commented: "He's a big, strong horse. He's out of an A.P.Indy mare; a really pretty horse. Hopefully he can go on & do some great things this time next year." The colt previously sold as a yearling for US$150,000 at the 2010 Fasig-Tipton August Sale.
