5 Aust-Bred Winners In Hong Kong

In Hong Kong last night, 5 Australian-bred gallopers scored at Sha Tin:

  • 5YO gelding Storm's Destiny (More Than Ready-Bare Assessment, by Honor Grades) won over 1800m for trainer Derek Cruz. Storm's Destiny was a $120,000 yearling consigned by Vinery Stud at the 2007 Inglis Melbourne Premier Sale.
  • 5YO gelding Darpana (Royal Academy-Going Raja, by Well Decorated) won over 1200m for trainer David Ferraris. Darpana was a $34,000 yearling consigned by Mill Park at the 2007 Magic Millions Adelaide Sale.
  • 8YO gelding Buccaneer (More Than Ready-Pier, by Riverman) won over 1650m for trainer PF Yiu.
  • 5YO gelding Solar Up (Johannesburg-Whole Lotta Rosie, by Bigstone) won over 1200m for trainer Michael Chang. Solar Up was a 14,000 yearling at the 2006 Magic Millions Winter Sale, then a $34,000 yearling at the 2007 Magic Millions Gold Coast Sale & subsequently an $80,000 2YO at the 2007 NZ Bloodstock Ready-To-Run Sale.
  • 5YO gelding Happy Reunion (Dubai Destination-Admiral's Lass, by Tong Po) won over 1200m for trainer Ricky Yiu. Happy Reunion was passed-in as a yearling for $22,500 at the 2007 Inglis Melbourne Premier Sale & subsequently a $125,000 2YO at the 2007 NZ Bloodstock Ready-To-Run Sale.
