Thursday, 14th April 2011

Also in the UK overnight, deceased former Darley shuttler & Gr1 Dubai World Cup winner Singspiel (In The Wings-Glorious Song, by Halo) added a black-type success when Irish-bred colt Dordogne (Singspiel-Riberac, by Efisio) also returned from a 6-months spell to lead all-the-way & then hold on to gain the decision in a 3-way photo-finish to the £30,000 (A$47,000) Listed Feilden Stakes (9 furlongs) for 3YOs at Newmarket. Favourite Dordogne (ridden by Frankie Dettori for trainer Mark Johnson) scored by head from US-bred colt Happy Today (Gone West-Shy Lady, by Kaldoun) with a further short-head to another Irish-bred colt Moriarty (Clodovil-Justice System, by Criminal Type). Dordogne took his record to 2 wins & a placing from 3 starts.
