Kentucky Committee Denies Licence To Trainer Dutrow
The Kentucky Horse Racing Commission's licence review committee "voted unanimously not to issue a licence" to prominent trainer Rick Dutrow, reported bloodhorse.com. The action came "after a 1-hour hearing before the committee, in which Dutrow was questioned about the lengthy list of violations on his record (including illegal medications for which his horses tested positive, recording fake workout times & shipping horses between states under a false name) & inconsistencies on his licence applications this year & in previous years". Dutrow (who trained Big Brown to win 2008's Gr1 Kentucky Derby & Gr1 Preakness Stakes) "also faces an up-coming hearing in New York over 2 suspensions".
