UK 2YOs Day-2: $512k Distorted Humor Colt
In the UK overnight, Sir Robert Ogden paid top price of 320,000 guineas (A$512,000) for a colt by former Grand Lodge Thoroughbreds shuttler Distorted Humor (out of Gr3-winning Dynaformer mare Stupendous Miss) during the 2nd session at the 2-day Tattersalls Craven 2YO Breeze-Up Sale. The colt was consigned by Willie Browne's Mocklershill Stables in Ireland & Ogden's racing manager Barry Simpson commented: "This colt was an exceptional individual. We really liked him, he is a very refined individual & breezed nicely - he is a fine horse. It is so important that these horses are prepared well & we know that from Mocklershill there is plenty to go on with from here. They are not hard trained to get here & they arrive in great condition." The colt previously sold for just US$60,000 as a yearling at the 2010 Keeneland September Sale.
