Absolutely Wins Gr1 Patinack Farm AJC Oaks

Monday, 18th April 2011

Flagship Arrowfield Stud stallion & current Australian Champion Sire Redoute's Choice (Danehill-Shantha's Choice, by Canny Lad) added a Gr1 triumph (his 20th individual Gr1-winner & 73rd individual stakes-winner world-wide) when 30-1 maiden daughter Absolutely (Redoute's Choice-Catshaan, by Catrail) also relished the rain-drenched going to cause a major upset by racing away for a 3.5-lengths victory in the $550,000 Gr1 Patinack Farm 100th AJC Oaks (2400m) for 3YO fillies at Randwick. Absolutely (ridden by Brad Rawiller for trainer Michael Kent) defeated favourite Shamrocker (O'Reilly-Bohemian Blues, by Blues Traveller) & Pinker Pinker (Reset-Miss Marion, by Success Express). Absolutely (a $150,000 yearling consigned by Coolmore Stud at the 2009 Inglis Easter Sale in Sydney) took her record to 1 win & 5 placings (including each of March's Gr1 Schweppes Oaks over 2008m at Morphettville, Gr3 Schweppervescence Stakes over 1800m at Morphettville & Gr2 Sportingbet Fillies Classic over 1600m at Moonee Valley, plus 2010's Listed Arrow Training Services Stakes over 1600m at Mooney Valley) from 7 starts for $447,000 earnings.
