Fast Love Wins NZ Warstep Stakes

Monday, 18th April 2011

Last year's Australian Champion 2nd-Season Sire & multiple Gr1-winning Australian-bred Coolmore stallion Fastnet Rock (Danehill-Piccadilly Circus, by Royal Academy) added a NZ black-type success (& 15th individual stakes-winner) when daughter Fast Love (Fastnet Rock-Make Me Dream, by Sadler's Wells) gained the judge's decision in a 3-way photo-finish to the NZ$45,000 Listed NZ Bloodstock Warstep Stakes (2000m) for 3YO fillies at Riccarton Park. Fast Love (ridden by Kylie Williams for trainers Murray & Bjorn Baker) scored by a half-neck from Ormond Road (City On A Hill-Pub Singa, by Danasinga) with a further half-head to favourite So Divine (High Chaparral-Argante, by Star Way). Fast Love (passed-in for NZ$50,000 at the 2009 NZ Bloodstock Premier Yearling Sale at Karaka) took her record to 2 wins & 2 placings from 6 starts for NZ$30,950 earnings.
