Goon Serpent Wins Queen Of The South Stakes

Unbeaten multiple Gr1-winning Darley stallion Reset (Zabeel-Assertive Lass, by Zeditave) added a group success when 4YO mare Goon Serpent (Reset-Capri Blue, by Bluebird) scored a 1.25-lengths victory in the $175,000 Gr2 Queen Of The South Stakes (1600m) for fillies & mares at Morphettville in Adelaide. Goon Serpent (ridden by Nicholas Hall for trainer David Jolly) defeated equal top-weighted & equal favourite 6YO mare Lady Lynette (Ladoni-Queen's Own, by Coronation Day) & 5YO mare Ocean Challenger (Rubiton-French Elle, by Honour And Glory). Goon Serpent (a $14,000 yearling consigned by Arrowfield Stud at the 2008 Inglis Classic Sale in Sydney) took her record to 4 wins & 4 placings (including last start's Listed City Of Adelaide Handicap over 1400m at Morphetville on April 9) from 10 starts for $158,850 earnings.
