In Ireland overnight, dual-Derby winning Coolmore sire & former NZ Windsor Park shuttler Montjeu (Sadler's Wells-Floripedes, by Top Ville) added a black-type success when UK-bred 5YO entire & former Gr1 Irish Derby winner Fame And Glory (Montjeu-Gryada, by Shirley Heights) returned from a 6-months spell to score a half-length victory in the €40,000 (A$55,000) Listed Vintage Crop Stakes (13 furlongs) for 4YOs & up at Navan. Fame And Glory (ridden by Jamie Spencer for trainer Aidan O'Brien) defeated 4YO entire Nebula Storm (Galileo-Epping, by Charnwood Forest) & 6YO mare Fictional Account (Stravinsky-Romantic Venture, by Indian Ridge). Fame And Glory was a 190,000 guineas (A$304,000) foal at the UK Tattersalls 2006 December Sale; overall he now boasts 9 wins (also including 2010's UK Gr1 Coronation Cup over 12 furlongs at Epsom Downs, Irish Gr1 Tattersalls Gold Cup over 10.5 furlongs at The Curragh, Irish Gr2 Royal Whip Stakes over 10 furlongs at The Curragh & irish Gr3 Mooresbridge Stakes over 10 furlongs at The Curragh, plus 2009's Gr1 Irish Derby over 12 furlongs at The Curragh, Irish Gr2 Derby Trial Stakes over 10 furlongs at Leopardstown & Irish Gr3 Ballysax Stakes over 10 furlongs at Leopardstown, as well as 2008's French Gr1 Criterium De Saint-Cloud over 2000m) & 3 placings (including 2010's Irish Listed Alleged Stakes over 10 furlongs at The Curragh, plus both 2009's Gr1 English Derby over 12 furlongs at Epsom Downs & Irish Gr1 Champion Stakes over 10 furlongs at Leopardstown) from 13 starts.
