Monday, 18th April 2011

Vinery Stud shuttler More Than Ready (Southern Halo-Woodman's Girl, by Woodman) also added a US black-type success when his colt Road Ready (More Than Ready-Eishin Bridle, by Unbridled) scored a 0.75-length victory in the US$75,000 Listed Bachelor Stakes (6 furlongs) for 3YOs at Oaklawn Park. Road Ready (ridden by Joel Rosario for trainer Jeff Bonde) defeated fellow colt Philippe (Mineshaft-Freedom Of Speech, by Danzig) & the gelding Grant Jack (Harlan's Holiday-Dream Away, by St Jovite). Road Ready (a US$100,000 yearling at the 2009 Keeneland September Sale & subsequently a US$300,000 2YO at the 2010 Barretts Equine March Sale) took his record to 2 wins (also including 2010's Listed Lost In The Fog Stakes over 5 furlongs at Golden Gate Fields) & a runner-up (in 2010's Listed Barretts Juvenile Stakes over 6.5 furlongs at Fairplex Park) from 5 starts for US$93,580 earnings.
