Congrats Adds US Gr2

Tuesday, 19th April 2011

In the US, last year's US Champion 1st-Season sire & this season's new Vinery Stud shuttler Congrats (A.P.Indy-Praise, by Mr Prospector) added a graded-stakes success when boom daughter Turbulent Descent (Congrats-Roger's Sue, by Forestry) blitzed her rivals by 5-lengths in the US$150,000 Gr2 Beaumont Stakes (7 furlongs on all-weather) for 3YO fillies at Keeneland in Kentucky. Favourite Turbulent Descent (ridden by David Flores for trainer Mike Puype) defeated Honey Chile (Invisible Ink-Christmas Time, by Gilded Time) & Coax Liberty (Successful Appeal-Chelsie's House, by Housebuster). Turbulent Descent (a US$160,000 2YO at the 2010 Ocala Breeders April Sale) now has 5 wins (also including March's Gr1 Santa Anita Oaks over 8.5 furlongs at Santa Anita, plus 2010's Gr1 Hollywood Starlet Stakes over 8.5 furlongs at Hollywood Park & Listed Moccasin Stakes over 7 furlongs at Hollywood Park) & a runner-up (in February's Gr1 Las Virgenes Stakes over 8 furlongs at Santa Anita) from 6 starts for US$618,350 earnings.
