Tuesday, 19th April 2011

In France overnight, former Grand Lodge Thoroughbreds shuttler Distorted Humor (Forty Niner-Danzig's Beauty, by Danzig) added a black-type success (& 93rd individual stakes-winner world-wide) when US-bred gelding Slow Pace (Distorted Humor-Slow Down, by Seattle Slew) scored a 1.5-lengths victory in the €55,000 (A$76,000) Listed Prix De Suresnes (2000m) for 3YO colts & geldings at Maisons-Laffitte. Slow Pace (ridden by Olivier Peslier for trainer Freddy Head) defeated favoured fellow US-bred gelding War Pact (War Front-Tempo West, by Rahy) & the colt Cool Dude (Lemon Drop Kid-Toupie, by Intikhab).
