Glory Of Dancer Dies At Indian Stud Aged 18
In India, Gr1-winning stallion Glory Of Dancer (Shareef Dancer-Glory Of Hera, by Formidable) died "after bolting from his stall at Nanoli Stud in Pune" aged 18, reported racingpost.com. Glory Of Dancer "was initially retired to Egerton Stud in Newmarket, but was sold to India before his progeny reached the track in Europe". Glory Of Dancer sired back-to-back Indian Derby winners Hotstepper & Antonios, as well as this year's Indian 2,000 Guineas winner Beautful Stranger. A "measure of his high profile is reflected in the fact that he was chosen as the 1st stallion to cover Jacqueline, regarded as the greatest filly to race in India, last year". From 9 crops of 198 named foals, Glory Of Dancer sired 146 winners & 26 black-type performers.
