Magic Millions QTIS Yearlings Final Average Down 13%

Tuesday, 19th April 2011

Overall at the Magic Millions QTIS 600 Sale, 347 yearlings sold for $6,692,500 (down 12.7% on last year's 462 sold for $7,669,500 but up considerably on 2009's $6,135,500). The average of $19,287 was down 13% on last year's $22,166 (but also up on 2009's $18,424). The clearance rate was 71% (last year 82%) & acting managing director David Chester commented: "It's been a remarkably good result considering the natural disasters that have impacted the Queensland economy & in particular the confidence of the racing industry. In spite of this over 110 yearlings were sold to Queensland country buyers, proving the value of the QTIS 600 scheme."
