Florida 2YOs Day-1: US$275k War Front Filly

Wednesday, 20th April 2011

In the US, bloodstock agent Buzz Chace (acting for Richard Santulli of Jayeff B Stable) paid top price of US$275,000 for a filly by Claiborne Farm's boom 2nd-crop stallion War Front (out of stakes-winning Pleasant Tap mare Tappin For Gold) during the opening session of the 4-day Ocala Breeders Sales Company's April Spring Sale of 2YOs-In-Training Sale in Florida. The filly (consigned by Alexandra de Meric & Brandon Rice as agents) clocked 10.2sec for 1 furlong during the pre-sale breeze-up session & Chace told bloodhorse.com: "She's by the right stallion & she is just a very nice, sound-looking individual. It looked like there was a lot left in her tank. She got over the track so very well & was so nice around the barn." The Kentucky-bred filly previously sold as a yearling for US$80,000 at the 2010 Keeneland September Sale.
