Aust-Bred Not A Single Doubt Son Wins South African Gr3

Wednesday, 27th April 2011

In South Africa, multiple stakes-winning Arrowfield Stud sire Not A Single Doubt (Redoute's Choice-Single's Bar, by Rory's Jester) added a group success (& 5th individual stakes-winner world-wide) when Australian-bred gelding Castlethorpe (Not A Single Doubt-Park Heiress, by Sadler's Wells) scored a 1-length victory in the R184,000 (A$26,000) Gr3 Winter Guineas (1600m) for 3YOs at Kenilworth. Castlethorpe (ridden by Karl Neisius for trainer Mike Bass) defeated the colt Lake Arthur (Jet Master-Leading Dame, by Jallad) & fellow gelding Abington (Victory Moon-Private Property, by Just Personal). Castlethorpe (a $50,000 yearling consigned by Blue Gum Farm at the 2009 Inglis Melbourne Premier Sale) now has 4 wins & 3 placings (including 2010's Gr3 Matchem Stakes over 1400m at Durbanville) from 11 starts.
