My Kingdom Of Fife Wins Gr1 Queen Elizabeth Stakes

Wednesday, 27th April 2011

US triple Gr1-winning Kentucky-based Lane's End Farm pensioned stallion Kingmambo (Mr Prospector-Miesque, by Nureyev) added a Gr1 triumph when imported UK-bred 6YO gelding My Kingdom Of Fife (Kingmambo-Fairy Godmother, by Fairy King) made it 2 successive group wins in a fortnight with a 0.75-length victory in the $500,000 weight-for-age Gr1 Queen Elizabeth Stakes (2000m) at Randwick. My Kingdom Of Fife (ridden by Nash Rawiller for trainer Chris Waller) defeated favoured 5YO mare Sacred Choice (Choisir-Sacred Habit, by Sir Tristram) & 7YO gelding Syreon (Flying Spur-Sorrento, by Just A Dancer). My Kingdom Of Fife was purchased at last year's UK Tattersalls Autumn Horses-In-Training Sale by bloodstock agent Alistair Donald for 60,000 guineas (A$96,000) on behalf of Australian owner Richard Pegum. My Kingdom Of Fife took his record to 5 wins (also including last start's Gr3 Doncaster Mile Prelude over 1600m at Randwick on April 9) & 8 placings from 21 starts for $597,925 earnings.
