Vinery Stud's 6-time Gr1-winning stallion Testa Rossa (Perugino-Bo Dapper, by Sir Dapper) added a group success when 4YO gelding Red Colossus (Testa Rossa-Palace Glow, by Palace Music) returned from a 21-weeks spell to score a half-length victory in the $125,000 Gr3 Victoria Handicap (1400m) at Caulfield. Red Colossus (ridden by Chris Symons for trainer Greg Eurell) defeated favoured fellow 4YO gelding Budriguez (Al Maher-Deni, by St Covet) & 8YO gelding Time Matters (Gilded Time-Maat, by Sarab). Red Colossus (a $100,000 yearling consigned by Basinghall Farm at the 2008 Inglis Melbourne Premier Sale) now has 5 wins (also including both 2010's Listed Port Adelaide Guineas over 1800m at Morphettville & Listed Chairman's TAB Stakes over 2014m at Morphettville) & 5 placings (including 2010's Gr1 South Australian Derby over 2500m at Morphettville & Listed Seymour Cup over 1600m) from 17 starts for $338,505 earnings.
