US Gr3-Winner Red Arrow Joins Blue Gum Roster

Wednesday, 27th April 2011

Victoria's Blue Gum Farm announced US Gr3-winning & Australian multiple stakes-placed 6YO stallion Red Arrow (Red Ransom-Lady Jakeo, by Last Tycoon) has joined its stallion roster this season at a fee of $6,600. Red Arrow (whose dam Lady Jakeo was a multiple Gr1-winner) was bred by Vinery Stud & sold for $225,000 as a yearling at the 2005 Inglis Easter Sale in Sydney; he placed in both 2008's Gr3 Bletchingly Stakes (1200m) at Caulfield & Listed Sir John Monash Stakes (1100m) at Caulfield for trainer Anthony Cummings, prior to a US relocation which produced wins in the 2009 Gr3 Los Angeles Handicap (6 furlongs on all-weather) at Hollywood Park, plus 2 victories over 6.5 furlongs on turf at Santa Anita Park. Blue Gum Farm's Philip Campbell commented: "Red Arrow is a fine looking stallion with size, strength, length & plenty of bone about him. I can see him producing a very pleasing physical style of horse & if he also passes on his own amazing temperament, he will be a long way down the path to success. He has a pedigree that excites & was able to show the sort of racetrack ability that the pedigree suggests he would have."
