Hinchinbrook Also Inoculated For Possible Royal Ascot Trip

Thursday, 28th April 2011

Fellow Victorian trainer Peter Moody is similarly "keeping his options open by vaccinating" Gr3-winning & triple Gr1-placed 3YO colt Hinchinbrook (Fastnet Rock-Snippets' Lass, by Snippets) "for a possible tilt at the Royal Ascot carnival" reported racenet.com.au. Hinchinbrook "was vaccinated on Monday to keep the dream alive, having been entered for the Gr1 King's Stand Stakes (5 furlongs) & Gr1 Golden Jubilee Stakes (6 furlongs) last week". Moody confirmed: "We've left the door ajar. We've also nominated him for the Gr1 Doomben 10,000 & the Gr1 Stradbroke (at the Brisbane winter carnival). I've told the owners their colt is racing very well so let's go home, think about what we do & not make any rush decisions on his future because I know a lot of studs are knocking on the door." Hinchinbrook (a 3/4-brother to Gr1-winning Arrowfield Stud stallion Snitzel) has chased home older star sprinters Black Caviar & Hay List in his last 4 starts, most recently finishing runner-up (behind Hay List) in last Saturday's Gr1 All Aged Stakes (1400m) at Randwick. Overall he boasts 2 wins (in 2010's Gr3 Skyline Stakes over 1200m at Randwick & Listed Canonbury Stakes over 1100m at Randwick) & 7 placings (also including March's Gr1 William Reid Stakes over 1200m at Moonee Valley & February's Gr1 Oakleigh Plate over 1100m at Caulfield, plus 2010's Gr1 Inglis AJC Sires' Produce Stakes over 1400m at Randwick, Gr2 Pago Pago Stakes over 1200m at Rosehill, Listed Governor Macquarie Cup over 1200m at Randwick & Listed Heritage Stakes over 1200m at Rosehill) from 14 starts for $590,300 earnings.
